Most people who don’t have anxiety or depression don’t get it. They don’t understand what you mean when you say you cry for no reason. They think you’re just emotional. They don’t know how it feels to have your heart pumping out of your chest and to be short of breath and can’t control it, or to feel like the whole world is tumbling down on top of you and you can’t fix it. They don’t get that Anxiety & Depression are both illnesses, not a birth defect. It’s not your personality either, it’s just taken over it. They think we like the attention, but they have no idea how badly we want to feel happy. To have a real smile, not a fake one. To not have to go through the day feeling worthless. To not cry for a week straight. To just be happy, like the average human should.

I can’t believe I have over 14,000 notes! I can’t believe people have said that my words meant so much to them and made some even cry. You guys all mean so much to me and if you ever need me write in my ask box. Love you all <3

nothing seems to be going right anymore. i have lost so many friends this year and im withdrawing myself from everyone, i always cry for no reason, and it happens everyday. i feel like im not good enough, and i feel like the smile i put on everyday is fake. i tried telling my parents but they wont listen, i need help. the only person that can make me happy is the guy i like, my ex, and i told him that and he feels the same way. but sometimes i feel like there are others who could treat me better

My answer:

I totally understand you. Your probably going though some kind of depression and your parents wont help you talk to some kind of adult like an aunt or guidance counselor. You might need therapy and/or medication. When I first started to develop depression i lost a lot of friends, but i also found out who my true ones are. You have to remember that no matter what your head tries to tell you or anyone else does, you ARE good enough.. your better than good enough, you beautiful inside and out.. your just going through hard times. And I feel the same way about my current boyfriend whom i just got back together with for the 3rd time.. sometimes their are better people out there but if you love or like someone enough you ignore the other people and keep going back to the same person. You have to decide if that’s the right thing for you or not. But you deserve the best, and if this guy you like doesn’t treat you right.. move on to the ones who do.. even if it is hard. sorry if this was all confusing but i hope I helped!

Self-harm isn’t about how deep the cuts are, how many there are, where you do them, how bad they scar, if one person has more than you or has gone deeper. It’s not a goddamn competition. It’s about pain, and suffering, and being trapped in your own fucking mind with no way out. It’s being so fucking desperate, and down, that you have to result to a physical pain to let out the psychological pain. I don’t give a shit who you are, if you tell me self-harm is for attention, I’m going to kick your goddamn ass.
